1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the PDF to LaTeX Converter service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.

2. Description of Service

PDF to LaTeX Converter is a web-based service that allows users to convert PDFs into LaTeX format using a variety of templates and to edit those templates through integration with Overleaf.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To access certain features of our Service, you may need to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for safeguarding the password that you use to access the Service and for any activities or actions under your account. We encourage you to use "strong" passwords (passwords that use a combination of upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols) with your account.

4. User Content

4.1 Your Content

When you upload a PDF or any other content to our Service ("User Content"), you retain all ownership rights to your User Content. By uploading User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and process that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

4.2 Content Restrictions

You agree not to upload any User Content that:

  • Infringes on the intellectual property rights or other rights of any third party
  • Contains malicious code, viruses, or harmful materials
  • Violates any applicable law or regulation
  • Contains false, misleading, or deceptive information

4.3 Data Processing and Storage

We will process and store your User Content only as necessary to provide you with our Service. PDF files are deleted within 24 hours after conversion, and generated LaTeX files are stored for 30 days to allow you to access your converted files. We do not claim ownership of your data.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

5.1 Our Content

The Service and its original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of PDF to LaTeX Converter and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

5.2 LaTeX Templates

The LaTeX templates available through our Service are licensed for your personal use. Some templates may be subject to specific license terms, which will be indicated where applicable.

6. Subscription and Payment

6.1 Free Service

Certain features of our Service are available free of charge. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the free service at any time.

6.2 Paid Subscription

We offer a paid subscription that provides additional features and benefits. By subscribing to our paid service, you agree to pay all fees in accordance with the billing terms in effect at the time of your subscription. You also authorize us to charge your chosen payment method.

6.3 Refunds

Refunds are available within 14 days of initial subscription if you are not satisfied with our Service. After this period, we do not provide refunds for unused subscription periods.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not guarantee that:

  • The Service will meet your specific requirements
  • The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • The results obtained from using the Service will be accurate or reliable

8. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or our Service shall not exceed the amount paid by you, if any, for access to our Service during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PDF to LaTeX Converter and its licensors, service providers, employees, agents, officers, and directors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your use of the Service.

10. Third-Party Services

10.1 Overleaf Integration

Our Service includes integration with Overleaf for editing LaTeX files. Your use of Overleaf is subject to Overleaf's own terms of service and privacy policy. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of Overleaf or any other third-party services.

10.2 Payment Processors

For paid subscriptions, we use third-party payment processors. Your use of these payment services is subject to the terms and policies of those third parties.

11. Termination

11.1 Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion option in your account settings.

11.2 Termination by Us

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach the Terms.

11.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. All provisions of the Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
